My ClickBank Fail Attempt – I Though It Would Be Easier

Please visit the My Story page. It will give you context for why I created this blog.

The chart in the feature image is the funnel I started implementing in 2018. If you’re familiar with it, you’ll know what I’m talking about!

  • Visit ClickBank & choose a product to promote
  • Pay for Google search ads
  • Create a landing page
  • Vendor’s page
  • Order form
  • Sales

It was frustrating not to see the gains I was hoping for. It took me four years of testing different techniques, using numerous third-party resources, receiving suspended Google Ad accounts, and even hiring a coach as a last resort. All that persistence turned into a deeply demoralized feeling of being incapable. My previous coaches were able to achieve it, so why couldn’t I? Finally, I decided to quit and cut my losses.

Based on what I’ve found out recently, paid advertising was a lot less expensive years ago, so gaining profits through that specific funnel used to be much easier. I don’t mind fighting uphill battles under the right circumstances, but in this case, I wasn’t even aware I was fighting one!

I was basically doing the traditional affiliate marketing that I’m now trying to avoid.

I don’t think my “failure” was a complete loss because I’ve learned many things during those years, but if I had to start all over, I would have taken a different approach.

These days, I’m implementing a different type of funnel, guided by the right mentor, Dean Holland. I’ll probably still encounter challenges, but at least now I’m aware of the pitfalls that nobody told me about in the past. I’m also better equipped with a more complete set of tools provided by Dean Holland’s coaching program, The Beginner’s Advantage.

Warm Regards,

—Albert

  1. Hey Albert, congratulations on your first blog post! As someone who has also navigated the twists and turns of online marketing, I can relate to your experiences. Your journey, especially the challenges with affiliate marketing funnels and paid advertising, resonates with me. On my blog, CJ Profits, I’ve shared similar experiences and insights, particularly regarding lead generation and email marketing strategies. It’s great to see you’re now working with a mentor; I’ve found that having guidance can really change the game. Looking forward to reading more about your progress and learning from each other!

  2. Hi Albert,
You are absolutely right. Affiliate Marketing has changed and we must adapt our ways of working.
We are for sure in good hands with Dean and InternetProfits. Like you, I was trying aimlessly to find a pathway within the online jungle of “making money online”. Until I learned that affiliate marketing is a real business and must be approached this way. A proven plan, this is what I was looking for and I’m glad we find it!

  3. Albert,

I am all too familiar with your 2018 funnel -Except for the Search ads. Instead I was going with responsive YouTube Videos via Google ads and they were going for upwards of $70 per day. Yes Expensive! I bet there were many like us that never reached our “Breakthrough”.

I too have learned many things and I bring with me – a love for creating videos – all be it without my voice or face present.

I’m rooting for you and I look forward to sharing that feeling of being a profitable affiliate marketer!
